About FRES

The Fisher Real Estate Society (FRES) is a student organization created to promote careers in the real estate industry and foster academic programming at the Fisher College of Business. FRES allows students to network with faculty, alumni, professionals and recruiters in the real estate industry. Membership includes graduate and undergraduate Fisher students.

The 2007/2008 academic year was the Fisher Real Estate Society’s third year in operation. Our goals for furthering the organization include:

  • Creating an all-encompassing organization open to all students attending The Ohio State University, including Business, Law, Engineering, Architecture, Undergraduates, Graduates and Construction Management.
  • Improving academic programming at the Fisher College of Business  by working with the Center for Real Estate Education and Research.
  • Creating a sustainable network of real estate professionals through sponsored networking events.
  • Expanding FRES programs to educate future leaders about the multiple facets of the real estate industry and the depth of career opportunities available.
  • Strengthening relationships with the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties

Our faculty advisor is John Rensink. John runs the day-to-day operations of the Real Estate Center. He is dedicated to finding and creating opportunities for students to further their learning experience in real estate education. In addition, he helps to enable new ways for professionals to connect with the center and the university. John earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio State and earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.
